The theme established as part of the celebration to emphasise the current need this year is- Digital Generation: Our Generation.The focus is on bridging the digital divide, which corresponds to the subject.
According to the United Nations, even in the post-COVID world, which saw schooling move online, 2.2 billion people under the age of 25 do not have access to the Internet at home.
Girls are also more likely to be cut off, indicating a gender split inside the digital divide, according to the survey.
They are also less likely to use and own smartphones than boys, according to the study. This, in turn, has an impact on their participation in occupations and skills related to technology.
