HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD

The International Day of the Girl Child is commemorated on October 11th to honour the development of girls all around the world. The emphasis of the day is on the girl child’s rights, protection, and education. The goal is for females to become active participants in global progress.

The theme established as part of the celebration to emphasise the current need this year is- Digital Generation: Our Generation. The focus is on bridging the digital divide, which corresponds to the subject.

According to the United Nations, even in the post-COVID world, which saw schooling move online, 2.2 billion people under the age of 25 do not have access to the Internet at home.
Girls are also more likely to be cut off, indicating a gender split inside the digital divide, according to the survey.
They are also less likely to use and own smartphones than boys, according to the study. This, in turn, has an impact on their participation in occupations and skills related to technology.

Earlier this month, we had broadcasted a call for application for our Poetry Contest to commemorate this year’s celebration. The theme for this year: Digital Generation, Our Generation.
